Examples of processed fruit are packaged or bottled fruit juices, canned fruit, smoothies based on fruit ingredients and frozen products. Always check the ingredients for items such as hydrolyzed wheat protein, modified wheat starch or malt, which contain gluten.
Dried fruit, such as dried apricots or raisins, should be ok, but check the ingredients and be wary of bulk buying buckets if there are wheat, barley or rye products nearby.
Finally, where fruit has been chopped or portioned, there could be a risk of cross-contamination from the space in which the fruit was prepared.
